These are the two chimneys that remain of the home of Andrew Jackson Combs. Andrew Jackson served in the Kentucky State Guards untill the close of the Civil War. Soon after that he got a job as an Ore Miner in Estill County. All of the Ore that came out of this mine was transported to Fitchburg Furnace where it was turned into iron. Then after the Furnaces closed he became a blacksmith and made wagons for a living. He died at the age of 52. ofhomeofjack.jpg)
